"Stefano De Martino on Affari Tuoi?": the sensational words of Flavio Insinna, who's jealous?

From television to theater, the eclectic Flavio Insinna never stops and is more immersed than ever in the tour of "Gente di facile costumi", the comedy of the same name written and once performed by Nino Manfredi and now revived, directed by his son Luca. It will be on stage until March 2 at the Quirino theater in Rome. The actor spoke about himself in an interview for Leggo, starting with maestro Manfredi: "I met the great actor as a student at Gigi Proietti's acting school, for a group interview of ours just when he was on stage with this comedy. I found the recorded audio cassette and gave it to his son Luca, who is the director of this new production. Nino Manfredi's talent is one of the reasons why I fell in love with the profession of acting. He insisted on the importance of studying, of cultivating talent, if there is any, with continuous application: this is a bit of his legacy, but we are talking about an extraterrestrial compared to an ordinary person like me".

On TV, however, Insinna took up the legacy of the great Corrado , with two successful programs such as “La Corrida” and “Il pranzo è servito”: “Corrado was a true giant as a presenter. I always found his bonhomie, his disenchantment, marvelous, inimitable. As Proietti told us in his laboratory, 'we are not surgeons who operate on a dying person with an open heart...', even with the anxieties and worries typical of our profession, we are not called to save the world, maybe to make it a little more beautiful, that's for sure”.

On Rai, he was the leading face of two other giants such as “L'Eredità” and “Affari Tuoi”: “Presented for five years, I couldn't help but feel a little tender: they are pieces of my life, not just of my career. I still watch them, when I can, but not as an insider, simply as a spectator, to have fun; and as a lover of those formats, certainly not to nitpick anyone. On ' L'Eredità ' – explains Insinna – you can and must do less, it has its own schemes, in the sense that there are questions and answers, the meeting with the contestants to put them at ease and Marco Liorni is a perfect host. 'Affari tuoi' on the other hand gives you a thousand opportunities, but you have to learn to manage and dose them: it's not just opening packages... Stefano De Martino empathizes with the public, knows how to improvise, makes a mess and becomes serious again, he is very good at inventing”. Insinna, finally, takes his leave thus: “At the moment, doing television is not at the forefront of my thoughts and it is not in my agenda, now I am busy in the theatre with this tour”.
